If you started a degree at another accredited college or university, you may transfer college credits toward your CCU degree.
- Apply up to 45 transfer credits toward your associate degree.
- Apply up to 90 transfer credits toward your bachelor's degree.

Transfer student FAQs
I haven't been to school for years, will CCU accept my transfer credits?
Most college credits for adult degree completion students are accepted without a mandatory time frame. Contact an enrollment counselor to learn more about transfer credits for your specific situation when returning back to school.
Will CCU accept my previous college transfer credits?
Transfer credits may be accepted from an accredited school. Also, undergraduate credits are accepted from members of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. All undergraduate credits are accepted on a per credit basis and must have a grade of C- or better.
Does CCU accept military credits?
Yes, CCU accepts undergraduate credits through the American Council on Education. These include credits from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), the Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS), and the Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (SMARTS).
Does CCU accept employer training for credit?
Many organizations have registered their training with the American Council on Education. If your training was registered at the time you completed the course, it may be transferable for undergraduate course credit.
How much does it cost to post transfer credits toward my degree?
CCU posts the credits at no cost to our college students.
Is my previous grade point average included in my CCU grade point average?
No. The GPA in your CCU transcript will be calculated based only on the courses you take at CCU.
I went to a non-accredited Bible school. Will you accept those credits?
CCU recognizes your work was very valuable. In general, CCU cannot accept credits from non-accredited schools unless there is an articulation agreement in place, or the non-accredited work is evaluated by the division dean. The established criteria for non-accredited coursework is consistent among programs in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies, and is used to determine a student's eligibility in applying to a CCU undergraduate program.
Applicants must still meet the specific undergraduate admission requirements for their chosen program to be admitted to that program.
I don't have any transfer credits. Can I still attend CCU?
Yes, your Student Services Advisor will design a personalized degree plan for you showing the required courses you need to complete your degree or certificate.
How do I convert quarterly credit hours to semester hours?
Acceptable quarter hours are divided by 1.5. For example, a quarterly course for five credits becomes a 3.33 semester course.
How many credits can be transferred in toward an undergraduate degree in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies?
A minimum of 30 semester credits, or 25%, must be earned at CCU for a bachelor's degree. The rest of the student's credits can be transferred in from an accredited institution(s), or satisfied through prior learning credit .
At least 50% of the course requirements in the major field must be earned at CCU, and at least 12 upper-division (300 or 400 level courses) semester hours in the major field must be earned at CCU. At least 80% of the course requirements in the minor field must be earned at CCU.
How long will it take for my transfer credit to be applied to my CCU student record?
The transfer evaluation process is typically completed within 10-15 business days after receipt of the official transcript. Courses evaluated as transferable toward CCU degree requirements will be listed on the student’s progress report in Self-Service Advising indicating which CCU program requirements the transfer credit will satisfy.
